The International Aquatic Plants Layout Contest is a global-scale planted aquarium layout contest, organized by Aqua Design Amano Co., Ltd. The year 2010 marks the 10th anniversary, and we look forward to receiving many innovative and original layout designs in the contest 2010.

Application
Subject
Only freshwater planted aquarium is the subject of the contest. Anyone interested in the planted aquarium can apply for the contest. In case of open type aquarium, only underwater part becomes the subject of the judgment.
Entry
- Anyone interested in the planted aquarium is welcome to the contest.
- Only unreleased / unpublished work produced by an individual applicant is accepted. (There is no regulation in the aquarium size.)
- We accept only 1(one) layout application with 1(one) image /photo per applicant.
- In case the applicant ranked 27th or higher in the previous contests where he/she used the same layout materials (such as driftwood and stone) or the same layout composition with slight alternations (for example, changing just the plants), the applied work will be the subject of point-deduction.
- The use of house plants or marginal plants, which hardly survives in the water, becomes the subject of point-deduction.
- Please take a picture of whole aquarium from the front side. (The picture taken in angle or the one showing only part of the aquarium becomes the subject of point-deduction.)
We accept a color reversal film and color negative film, also an image taken by digital camera. The copyright of all submitted images to the contest will belong to Aqua Design Amano Co., Ltd. The submitted film, print and media will not be returned to the applicants.

No Entry fee
The contest booklet - Every year we publish the contest booklet, containing all the applicants' layout pictures after the final ranking is determined. Anyone can purchase the contest booklet through our online bookstore. We will announce the release of booklet on our web site; www.iaplc.com. The booklet is scheduled to be published around October, 2010.
Application methods (selectable)
Color Reversal Film
- You can use any film size.
- Please put the film in a mount, and write your name on the mount.
- Please send the mounted film and application form together.
Color negative Film
- Please make sure to send 2L size (127x178mm) print for the layout confirmation.
- Please write your name on the back of the print.
- Please send the film and application form together.
Digital Camera data
- Please use 4.0 mega pixels or higher resolution digital camera, SLR digital camera and take a photograph with high resolution mode.
- Please save the image in JPEG or TIFF format in CD-R.
- Do not make any image processing such as trimming or retouch.

Applicants can submit their entries online. Save on postage and take advantage of this user-friendly process. To submit your work online, please go to www.iaplc.com where you will find easy application fill-in form. (Online Submission will start on January, 2010.)
Hard Copy Submission
(Color reversal or negative film and digital camera data in CD-R)
Hard Copy applications should be sent to our address in Japan, or nearby local representative address with the material and application form.

Contest Result Announcement
All the contest entries will go through impartial judgment, and the final contest result will be directly sent by airmail to each applicant by the end of July, 2010.
Then the result will be published on our contest website, and the various aquarium magazines of the world.
