The application must reach us no later than March 31, 2012

Subject

Freshwater Planted Aquarium (terrarium, marine aquarium scapes do not qualify)
* In case of open type aquarium, only underwater part is subject of grading.

Entry

Anyone interested in the planted aquarium can apply for the contest. Only work created by the contestant (individual) is accepted. There is no restriction in aquarium tank size.

Each contestant can apply only one submission/ entry.

* Application is limited to the layout picture taken within a year.
* The layout should be in India and the contest is open for Contestants living in India.
* The use of house plants or marginal plants which hardly survive in water, or use of layout material hard to maintain in a long period of time may become of point deduction.
* The layout picture should be taken from the front side (pictures taken from other angles and/or showing only a part of the aquarium may become subject of point deduction).

Digital data / Online application

Use 4.0 mega pixels or higher resolution digital camera, SLR digital camera and take a photograph with high resolution mode. Images taken with mobile phone will not be accepted.
Only images in JPEG format is accepted (RAW data will not be accepted).
Do not make any image processing such as trimming or retouch. Please do not delete Exif information.
Online application is available will be made available shortly.
Online application can be completed easily by providing required information and specifying the attaching the data of the aquarium.

Common Notes

The picture does not need to be taken by the contestant.
Please apply by the name of the creator of the layout. Applying by names other than the creator of the layout or by false name may be subject of disqualification.
Illicit application using free E-mail or unsolicited bulk E-mail cannot be accepted. Also, multiple entry and registration cannot be accepted.
Submitted images will not be returned to the contestants.
Copyrights of all submitted images will belong to ADA India and Still Water Aquatics

Result Announcement

The results will be announced by the end of April 2012. The prizes will be given away in an Award ceremony to be held in Bangalore.The winners will ave to be present to collect their prize in person.
The prizes cannot be exchanged for cash etc..

Grading guidelines

The judging criteria are split into four categories and sum up to a total of 100 points. For that reason the highest score an aquascape can achieve is 100 points. The judgement will be based on many different aspects such as long term stability of the layout, proper use of plants and plant health.

For example if a participant is using emerged plants and house plants which can barely survive under submerged conditions this will result in point deduction.

Creativity of the aquascape (Maximum 35 points)

Does this layout contain new and/or inventive aspects?
What is the artistic impression of the aquascape?

Layout design (Maximum 30 points)

Proper placement of the plants.
Is there a balance within the layout in terms of the colours and shapes of aquatic plants?
Is the hardscape adequately chosen and does it fit into the layout composition?
Aspects of long term stability of the layout.

Condition of the aquatic plants (Maximum 30 points)

Overall health of the aquatic plants.
Use of emerged plants and house plants, which can barely survive under submerged conditions, will lead to point deduction.

Photographic aspects of the submitted image (Maximum 5 points)

Special efforts to highlight the beauty of the aquascape with photographic knowledge and skill.
